Punk

Hi guys!!! Here we are, today it's New Year's Eve and another year has gone by... and very fast! Do you know that during these two weeks I've started to write three posts which then I've eliminated?? Then, this morning I've read the posts of two of  my favourite bloggers. They were an evaluation of this year with photos etc... and so, the doubt of making a post like that has come but then I've thought it was better to make it for the blog's birthday (in february!) and finally I've decided to make a post about the principal style of this year: the PUNK.

Hola chic@s!!! Aquí estamos, hoy es Nochevieja y otro año ha pasado... y muy rapido! ¿Sabéis que durante estas dos semanas empecé a escribir tres posts que al final los eliminé todos? Esta mañana he leído los posts de dos de mis bloggeras favoritas. Eran una evaluación de este año con fotos etc... y entonces me ha entrado la duda de hacer un post así pero despues he pensado que era mejor hacerlo para el cumpleaños del blog (en febrero!) y finalmente he decidido escribir un post sobre el estilo protagonista de este año: el PUNK.

I could talk of this movement for years but I will try to make a summary (I hope my friend Vicky will forgive me for this, sorry Vicky!). The punk was born in the mid 70's as a musical genre inside the rock in countries Great Britain and the USA. The punk had the influence of the garage rock and the aggressive rock, it was  transgressor and sometimes violent. Bands and singers like The Ramones, Blondie, Patti Smith, Dead Boys, The Cramps, Black Flag, Sex Pistols, The Pretenders or The Addicts used a music very simple and raw to express their ideas, concepts and disagreements with politics.

Podría hablar de este movimiento durante años pero voy a intentar hacer un resumen (espero que mi amiga Vicky me perdone, lo siento Vicky!). El punk nació a mediados de los años 70 como un género musical dentro del rock en países como Gran Bretaña y los Estados Unidos. El punk tuvo la influencia del garage rock y del rock agresivo, era transgresor y a veces violento. Bandas y cantantes como los Ramones, Blondie, Patti Smith, Dead Boys, The Cramps, Black Flag, Sex Pistols, los Pretenders o los Addicts usaban una música simple y cruda para expresar sus ideas, conceptos y desacuerdos con la política.

The punk was born as a musical genre but little by little it became a way to live and understand fashion. The punk fashion is theatrical: tattoos, body modification, big crests coloured by flashy colours. They customised clothes by embellishing it with marker or adorning it with paint. A black bin liner could become a dress and razor blades or safety pins were used as jewelry. The leather jackets (which were decorated with painted band logos, pins or spikes), tartan trousers and skirts, pins, tacks, chains, the Converse and the Dr Martens were also some of the characteristics of the fashion punk.

El punk nació como un género musical pero poco a poco se convirtió en un modo de vida y de entender la moda. La moda punk es teatral: tatuajes, modificaciones en el cuerpo, grandes crestas teñidas con colores chillones. Personalizaban la ropa adornándola con rotulador o con pintura. Una bolsa de basura negra se podía convertir en un vestido y las cuchillas de afeitar o los imperdibles se usaban como joyas. La chaquetas de piel (las cuales se decoraban con los parches de los logos de las bandas, pines o pinchos), los pantalones y faldas a cuadros tartán, pines, tachuelas, cadenas, las Converse y las Dr Martens eran también algunas de las características de la moda punk.

And finally, the last May was celebrated the MET Gala, this Gala dinner is the party of fashion and told us the trend of the next season. This year the theme of the party was the punk and then, we knew that the star of this season would be the punk. That night we also realised what the celebrities understood for fashion punk and we saw all kind of things...!!

Y finalmente, el pasado mayo se celebró la Gala del Met, esta gala es la fiesta de la moda y dicta las tendencias de la próxima temporada. Este año el tema de la fiesta era el punk y entonces supimos que la estrella de esta temporada sería el punk. Esa noche también nos dimos cuenta de lo que entendían las celebrities por moda punk y vimos de todo...!!

It's very hard to me but I recognise that Cara Delevingne was the best dressed (if we refeer to punk fashion), although neither Sienna was bad

Es muy duro para mí pero tengo que reconocer que Cara Delevingne fue la mejor vestida (si nos referimos al punk), aunque Sienna tampoco estaba mal.

The firsts to expand the neopunk were the famous brands, brands like Chanel or Saint Laurent who gave their interpretations of punk.

Las primeras que expandieron el neopunk fueron las grandes marcas, marcas como Chanel o Saint Laurent, quienes aportaron sus interpretaciones del punk.
